How should profile molds be cleaned and maintained?
After the mold has been used for a period of time, it should be stopped and the mold removed for cleaning, inspection and maintenance. The specific operation methods are as follows:
① Before stopping the machine, add cleaning material to facilitate mold removal and reduce damage to the die mouth.
② When removing the mold, use flexible material tools such as wood, aluminum, and copper and soft metal tools. Do not use hard material tools such as steel to forcefully strike the mold.
③ Clean the foreign objects, material debris, etc. in the cavity surface of the fixed mold and the vacuum groove. If the mold is stuck, handle it gently to avoid bumps and scratches.
④ When the water channel is blocked or not smooth, use compressed air to clean it. If necessary, remove the plug screw to clean it.
⑤ For minor scratches and pitting on the cavity surface, use 800-mesh or higher diamond sandpaper for polishing treatment. For more serious damage and pitting, local welding of stainless steel can be done for repair.
⑥ Molds that are not in use temporarily should be treated for rust prevention and stored in a dry, clean, and well-ventilated warehouse. They must not be stored in the same warehouse as chemicals.
⑦ When the mold is used again, use neutral liquid to wipe off the rust preventive oil inside the mold.
