The bimetallic screw with armoured flights consist of a weldable and nitriable base material with an alloy applied to the flight. Between the armouring layer and the base material, there is perfect material bonding. This armouring layer is a special alloy AX system.

Armouring thickness between 1.0 and 1.5 mm

or example of our AX4-A alloy layer, its thickness is from 1.0mm to 1.5mm and its hardness is round HV900. This alloy layer has a minimum contact wear ratio when it is running inside a bimetallic barrel. It is similar in composition of NiWC25 made by Stellite Company in USA and batter than Colmonoy alloy because of WC inside, as shows below:
