What is the forming process of plastic-steel profiles? What are the key issues during forming compared to conventional profiles?

The forming process of plastic-steel profiles is as follows: pre-formed metal sheets, plates, or rods are first processed through a metal bending machine for preliminary shaping, then transferred to a metal preheating and surface treatment unit before entering the co-extrusion die mounted on an extruder. Plastic raw materials are mixed and fed into the extruder, where they are heated and melted, then extruded into the co-extrusion die. Inside the die, the plastic material bonds with the metal material, adhering to or encapsulating the metal surface. The composite material is then pulled by a traction machine or conveyed by a bending machine into a cooling vacuum sizing unit for cooling and shaping. Finally, the product is cut to obtain the finished profile. The following figure shows a schematic diagram of the co-extrusion process for plastic-steel profiles and the extrusion production line layout.
