What are the requirements for molding equipment and process control when producing APET sheet?

Single-screw extruders are typically used in the production of APET sheet, with a screw length-to-diameter ratio of 24:30. The screw should be equipped with a barrier section to ensure uniform material plasticization. A filtration device should be installed before the die, using multi-layer filter screens (e.g., 20/120/60/20 mesh) to filter the melt. It is also advisable to install a melt metering pump and a melt pressure controller before the die to ensure consistent melt quality and stable extrusion output.
Process control requirements:
① Resin must be dried prior to processing, with drying temperature generally maintained between 120–130°C; the moisture content of the dried material should be less than 0.05%;
② Extruder temperatures are typically controlled as follows: Zone 1: 250–270°C; Zone 2: 275–285°C; Zone 3: 270–280°C; Zone 4: 255–265°C; Zone 5: 255–265°C; Die temperature: 255–265°C;
③ On the three-roll calender, the top roll temperature should be 32–40°C, the middle roll 40–45°C, and the bottom roll 50–65°C.
